TT #23

TT#23
This week is dedicated to shopping horrors! Things that drive me crazy while shopping. I should confess, I hate to shop. I know! I’m not normal.

1. The people the in the grocery store that always leave their cart in the middle of the isle.
2. Finding a parking spot at the mall anytime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
3. Following my daughter from store to store while she tries to find the perfect outfit.
4. Being told to buy that impossible to find present for one of my nieces or nephews.
5. Waiting in line forever.
6. Having the store open a new check out line and the people from the back of the line jump in front of everyone.
7. Price checks that take forever.
8. Having someone pull into the parking spot, you’ve been waiting for.
9. While shopping online: Loosing connection after you enter all your info.
10. Finding the perfect outfit but it’s too small. (At least once in a while it could be too big!)
11. Trying on clothes in the dressing room.
12. Taking the clothes back that don’t fit. I wouldn’t have bought them if I’d tried them on in the dressing room.
13. Listening to dh complain while carrying the bags. Doesn’t he know that’s in a dh’s job description.

Christmas is around the corner.

Well, I've started my Christmas shopping though I didn't torture myself by going out on Black Friday! I did venture out on Saturday and it wasn't too bad. Of course, I wasn't brave enough to hit the malls. I did go to Staples and Radio Shack to buy my electronic Christmas presents. I had quite a few on my list. Since I can't buy clothes for my daughter, (she's thirteen and won't weat anything I buy.) I bought her some electronics other than that she's getting gift cards.

I haven't begun decorating for Christmas yet. I don't think I'm going to do a lot of decorating this year since we are spending Christmas in Chicago with my dh's family.

It's been a long year and I'm not feeling Christmasy yet. Hopefully, I'll get in the mood.

New reviews!

I woke up this morning to two wonderful reviews from ParaNormalRomance.
Nicole Harvey reviewed both They Both Belong To Me and Hunters for Hire, Savage.

Read what she said about Savage,
"This story caught me from page one. The world that L.A. Day built in this wonderfully intriguing story just blew me away. The way she showed Savage as a man but also a dominate beast. To me when an author as good as L.A. Day writes them no one can touch them."

Read what she said about They Both Belong To ME,
"Well I loved, LOVED this story. I told hubby and my children not to bother me until I was done reading the last page. Then I went back and re-read it again."

Away!

Hey,
If anyone tries to contact me I will be away from Internet access from Friday afternoon until sometime Sunday. I'll still have my laptop with me. I hope to have a productive weekend. If I can't play on the Internet I'll get more work done.

TT #23

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving and I probably won’t have a Thursday Thirteen so I thought I’d do my Thanksgiving edition this week. Below is a partial list of reason and things that make me thankful. They aren’t in any particular order except for the first two and really, they should be a tie.

1. My Daughter
2. My Husband
3. My extended family
4. My friends
5. Readers of my books
6. Reviewers of my books
7. The love of reading my mother instilled in me.
8. My first book contract with Ellora’s Cave.
9. My other contracts
10. Cobblestone Press
11. Changeling Press
12. Great editors
13. The Internet

I am thankful for these and many other things. I didn’t mention my dogs but I am very thankful for my four-legged babies. I’m also thankful for my health and the health of my family. I’m thankful for the wonderful country I live in and those who protect it. I’m thankful for the opportunity to write for a living. I'm thankful for the other writers that write such hot stories that I love. I could go on and on with this but I won't. I'll just say, I'm very thankful for every day!

Thanksgiving is almost here!

It's been so warm here until recently that it's hard to believe Thanksgiving is next Thursday. Of course, you'd think it was almost Christmas since everywhere you go shopping they're already promoting it. I went to five places the other day before I could find a turkey centerpiece. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for but it'll work.

I haven't even started my Christmas shopping! I have no idea what to buy my 13 y/o daughter except gift cards. How un-Christmasy is that? It was so much easier when she was little.

Sigh! It's rather depressing to not have a little one that believes in Santa.

Savage releases tomorrow!

Savage, the first novel in the Hunters for Hire series releases tomorrow. I'm stoked to see this series grow not just for myself but for all the authors involved. Creating the world that we are using as a basis for the series has been a blast. This is the most complex work I've been involved with and I hope everyone enjoys it.

13 Things I didn't need to see last night.

1. The lady down the street dressed as a witch. The costume was very cute for a party with adults but not for taking the kids out trick or treating.

2. The little boy that fell in the street and skinned his knees. I felt so bad for him.

3. The older boys from down the street (18-19year olds) that were eyeing my daughter and her friends. They are 13 & 14 year olds. Those boys wanted to be hurt.

4. All the candy that I didn't need to eat! (I did anyway)

5. Halloween Four - my daughter didn't want to go to sleep after watching it.

6. Halloween Five - see above

7. The broken pumpkins all over the street. They look so sad when they're broken!

8. The silly string my daughter and her friends shot all over my back porch. My daughter will be cleaning up that tonight.

9. The mud they tracked all over my floors. (I cleaned that up while my daughter was complaining she couldn't sleep)

10. 11:30 then 12:00 go by without me going to bed. I was hoping for an early night.

11. The little girl that was sick at the end of my sidewalk. DH got to clean that up!

12. Very few scary costumes. What happened to being scary for Halloween?

13. Most of all, you hate to see it come to an end. I enjoy Halloween even though it may not sound like it. I love to decorate the house and see all the kids in costume especially the little ones.
