Day packs a lot into 23 pages, and the love scenes are absolutely spectacular, generating enough heat to keep you warm long after you’ve finished reading them. My lovely daughter turned 13 on Tuesday so this Thursday Thirteen is dedicated to her. Below find 13 wonderful memories with my daughter. Not necessarily in order!

1. The day she was born. It was Sunday afternoon, August 28, 1994.
2. Her first word. I tried so hard to get her to say Daddy but her first word was dog. She loved our dog from the first time she was able to turn her head and look at him.
3. Her first steps were at her Nana’s house. She was 10 months old.
4. The first time she really laughed. There is nothing like the laughter of a baby.
5. Her first day of school. She was so excited but I cried.
6. The day when she was three years old and she came with her father to pick me up at the airport. I’d been gone over night and I really missed her. She wore a dress because she was excited to have me come home. At that stage, she was refusing to wear dresses.
7. When my mom was alive, she spoiled my daughter rotten. One day we were at a store and she wanted something. I don’t remember what it was but I said no. Of course, my mom bought it anyway. As soon as Mom gave it to my daughter, she smiled at her and said, “sucker”. I’m not sure how old she was but she was young. All I could do was laugh.
8. Every day my daughter still kisses me goodbye in the morning and goodnight as she goes to bed. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
9. Rocking her to step when she was a baby. Then just holding her and watching her breathe.
10. Playing I love you more, when she was little. She would keep it up forever. Sometimes I can still get her to do it.
11. Teaching her to read. Unfortunately, she didn’t inherit my love of reading but she is an excellent reader.
12. The day she cut a bunch of my flowers and brought them to me as a bouquet. I couldn’t be mad at her.
13. It’s almost impossible to pick out 13 favorite memories. Every day, every hug, every kiss is special. I cherish every moment with her. (Well, almost every moment )

Life as I know it is over!

Today my baby girl turns 13! I'm not sure where the time has gone just yesterday she started school or it seems that way. Now, she's a young lady and a beautiful young lady too. I can only imagine the horrors of the next few years. My husband is considering leaving home until she turns 21. I almost feel sorry for her future boyfriends for I know he'll grill them to no end.

She is our one and only daughter and we've love to keep her young forever. Baring that I'd like to fast forward to her finishing college, getting married and producing grandchildren.

I can wish, I do write fantasy afterall.

Today is my birthday! What have I learned in 42 years? Well, I've learned alot but most of it is useless or can't be mentioned here
I have learned that life goes on even when you don't want it to.
If you are ambitious enough you can make your dreams reality.
If you get up on the wrong side of the bed. Lay back down and try it again.

Most importantly, I've learned that without family and friends you have nothing. (This includes my online friends.)

By the time she’d finished eating, she’d polished off her third glass of wine. “I’m stuffed.” She laughed, rolling over on the blanket and patting her flat stomach. “My jeans are too tight.”

“Take ‘em off.” Leon flashed a feral grin. “If it’d make you feel better, I’ll take mine off too.”

“Ha, real funny.” Scooping up a handful of cut flowers, she buried her heated cheeks in the array, sniffing the fragrant blossoms.

“Don’t you trust me?” Leon purred.

“Maybe, I don’t trust myself.” Her eyes fluttered up to meet his lust-filled gaze.

Leon’s grin vanished as he silently watched her. Golden eyes gleamed as he rolled to her side. “Leon,” she gasped breathlessly. His nearness played havoc with her nerves.

“Shh, I won’t do anything you don’t want.” Thick fingers rubbed her belly in slow but tight circles.

“But…”

“Riza, I know you’re innocent. Trust me.”

Biting her bottom lip, she studied him. He hovered over her, the feral predator waiting to pounce. An involuntary shiver rocked her frame. The evening breeze carried his scent to her and her eyes landed on the pants, he discarded at the edge of the water. A tawny muscular chest with just a smattering of hair was first to come into view above the water. His next step revealed rippling abs with a trail of hair leading downward. The next step revealed his crowning glory hanging long and thick down his thigh. If the frigid water had any effect on his cock, it was hard to tell.

Riza swallowed nervously at the sight. Her hands trembled as she wiped their dampness on her gown. What was she thinking! She should leave before it was too late. Her eyes darted up to his face meeting his glowing, golden eyes and she realized the time to run had passed.

She held his gaze refusing to cower before him, as he sauntered closer unconcerned with his nakedness.

Don’t look down. Don’t look down, she told herself. Her gaze flickered briefly. “Oh my god.” Her hand flew to cover her mouth, to stop the flow of words but nothing could stop the imprint of his perfect body in her mind. His image was engraved on her eyelids and her thighs quivered as she locked her knees to keep herself upright.

“I wanted to apologize for earlier,” she said quickly as he approached.

“Is this the traditional lupine way of apologizing?” His gaze lowered to his clothes in a crumpled pile of leaves under her feet. “If it is, take off your gown and I’ll apologize to you.” Dark, humor laced his words but his eyes were serious.

She glanced down but her eyes lost their way as they encountered his considerable erection now fully jutting from a nest of golden hair. Nervously, she shuffled and squatted to pick up his clothes. Finding herself on eye level with his groin, she froze. The long, thick, vein-riddled length jerked beneath her gaze.

A gentle hand closed around her jaw, shutting her mouth and tilting her face to meet humor filled eyes. “You shouldn’t leave your mouth hanging open like that or I might think you’re waiting for me to fill it.”

13 Reasons I’m glad to be back from vacation!

1. I came back to a new contract from Ellora’s Cave for Zarius.
2. I had Double Penetration’s first review waiting in my email.
3. Internet access on the ship was expensive.
4. My cell phone worked but only if I wanted to pay international long distance.
5. I needed to come back to rest.
6. I charged way too much (now I need to work to pay for it)
7. I gained 5 pounds!
8. It was hot…way hot.
9. I missed my puppies.
10. I couldn’t watch Nascar on the ship.
11. I missed my bed and my favorite pillow.
12. I really wanted to go back to the day job…Not!
13. I couldn’t wait to do laundry!

Summer is nearly over.

There is less than three weeks of summer vacation before school starts and I am not prepared. I put everything off until after we got back from the family vacation and now I have to start shopping for school clothes. I have three weeks that should be easy, right? Not!
First of all my daughter is almost thirteen so nothing pleases her. The school she attends has a uniform policy but still there are the right brand and shade of uniform that you have to have. Nothing else will do!
So time to shop except...we have volleyball practice every weeknight until school starts. How fun!
Then of course there is the registration and physical. As volleyball team Mom I not only have to take my daughter to registration but I must sell the fundraisers at sixth and seventh grade registration.
Since I just returned from vacation my boss is thrilled to hear I will be taking four half days in the next three weeks.
Okay, enough complaining!
Soon school will start and I won't have to run my daughter all over town before work!
Then the homework starts....

Back from Vacation

Still recovering from the vacation but I have to share my news. Zarius was contracted by Ellora's Cave yesterday. I was thrilled. This is the first book contracted by my new editor at Ellora's Cave. It's plus novel length, the longest book I've ever written. I usually write novella and short stories so this was a challenge.

Zarius is a sci-fi/alien erotic romance. Hopefully, it is the first in a series of books.

Another bit of good news: Double Penetration received it's first review and it is good! I'll post more on that later.

L.A. Day’s writing is a dream to read. It truly is. Some of the passages are so funny that they made me laugh out loud. One simply knows that Mav will be heating up the sheets and I have to say that Ms. Day outdid herself in that area as well. The love scenes are hot, hot, hot! From beginning to end I was highly entertained. Kari is innocent yet possesses a strong will and the manner in which she dealt with Mav's deception was commendable. Mav's possessive streak is sexy and arousing and definitely catapults him into the make-your-pulse-race-and-panties-wet category. When they're together, the steam literally rolls off the pages. Long Weekend

What did you do this weekend?

Terrible tragedy

I almost cried when I saw this pic. It is absolutely gut wrenching.
A friend sent this photo of a horrible highway accident in Germany .

The picture may be kind of hard to take for some of you. If you look closely
you can see what appear to be some survivors of the accident still in the
wreckage. Although the picture is quite graphic, it makes you realize how
quickly our loved ones can be taken from us. My friend stayed on the scene to
help and even though he performed mouth to mouth on quite a few of them, none
apparently survived.

“A tape measure. I had better verify the length. We wouldn’t want to disappoint her.”

“If you think I’m whipping it out for you—think again. I never disappoint.” He scooted closer reading the digital data. “I’m still not sure how this pleasure droid info is going to help us.”

“I intercepted the order. The droid she wants is top of the line. An A.L.B., an artificial life bot, verbally programmable, complete with simulated skin, and…ugh…life-like body fluids.”

American Idol & assorted stuff.

Any fans of American Idol out there?
It was a shock to see Melinda voted off, I thought she'd win although I'm rooting for Blake. He's talented and original.

So depressing that the Bones season finale was tonight. David Boreanaz rules!

Okay it's Friday and it should be TGIF but I'm going with TGID for, Thank God it's Done. I finished and submitted my longest novel ever. Usually, I write short novels, novella's and quickies but this one is 80K, that's huge for me.
I submitted it to EC so now it's the waiting game. Tenatively, named Alien Possession, Zarius, it's an erotic tale of an alien that comes to earth looking for his predestined mate. Back from the Ohio EC booksigning

It's Sunday and I'm back from the Ohio Ellora's Cave book signing. Yes, I left Louisville on Derby day of all days to travel to Ohio to meet some of my favorite EC authors and also some behind the scenes EC employees. I have to say I had a wonderful time. The authors, Jaid Black, Gail Faulkner, Tawny Taylor, Diana Hunter and Sherri King were all nice, friendly and had beautiful books for sale. I bought one from each of them . Also picked up a couple EC calendars, Yummy Cavemen!

After a couple of hours at Borders, reading and chatting, we went to EC headquarters and I was treated to a behind the scenes demo of the new print presses. The books look amazing, did I mention that?

From there, it was dinner and more chatting. It was great to get to enteract with so many people from EC. They are a great bunch. I'm not sure what I expected, but they all exceded any expectations I might of had.

I'm tired (6 hour drive each way) but I'm home and it was definitely worth it.

Turning the reins of his stallion over to a young boy, Bruton ducked into his lodge ignoring the females. Eliza rolled her tense shoulders, jealousy was not an acceptable emotion for the future Liberian Priestess but she feared that was what was burning in her chest. Had Bruton coupled with any of the females? She squared her shoulders and raised her chin. It did not matter, for her only interest in the barbarian was for his seed. Eliza thought of walking into the village to gather the seed she required, but now her pride would not allow it. She considered a rival clan, another seed giver but her stomach rebelled at the thought. No. It was Bruton’s seed she wanted.


She stepped out of the shadows, her chin tilted up and her gaze boldly seeking his. She would not let him see her fear, her vulnerability. She had a mission to accomplish and she would do it before returning successfully to her clan. Her steps faltered as he rose to his feet in the water. A glimmer of water shimmered across the contour of his powerful chest. She hesitated a moment as something else bobbed out of the water near him. It was the head of his rod, bursting out of the river as if it were a serpent sighting prey. She gulped at the sight, and then continued on her journey. Slowly, she approached the bank and he stood his ground, making no move toward her. Their gazes collided and his dark eyes gleamed with an inner hunger, clearly bespeaking of his want of her body. A slight breeze ruffled her hair and carried the scent of pine laced with testosterone. It filled her lungs and her nose flared, breathing deeply of the heady scent.

Ducking her head beneath his ardent gaze, she dipped a bare toe into the cool water, setting off ripples that once more drew her gaze to him. Eliza’s hands shook as she reached for the tie that held her rawhide skirt in place. She had watched him at his bath on many occasions she had seen others as well but now, she could not recall any of them. His masculine perfection scattered her thoughts. Derby is fast approaching!

I live in Louisville, KY and if you don’t know, that’s the home of the Kentucky Derby. This weekend begins the two weeks of celebrating leading up to The Derby. Saturday is Thunder over Louisville. During the day there is an Air Show and at night a huge Fireworks display. There is something for everyone and with the weather predicted to be beautiful, it should be an awesome day.

The Derby runs on Saturday, May 5th. Derby is always the first Saturday in May. If you like horse racing it’s a must see event.

I read Lauren Dane's, TriMates recently and all I can say is WOW! The story was intriguing from page one. The story was not only erotic but entertaining. The characters drew you in immediately. At the end of the story, I was left wanting more and lucky for us there will be more to the series.

What's Up March 6th

Just got back from Celebrate Romance Conference in Kansas City. It was a lot of fun and I got to meet EC authors Rod Casteel and Carol Lynne, they’re both fabulous. There were many other authors and readers and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

To keep Jenna safe, Gionne invites another member of his pack to sleep with Jenna. With this arrangement, Jenna has an extra protector. Be aware this book does have ménage.
Feral Domination was a super fast read. From page one L.A. Day had me enthralled with the story of Gionne and Jenna. I loved the how she brought more than one type of shape shifter into the story and how spicy the love scenes were. If you enjoy a lot of fire and domination in your books this is the one for you.
During Feral Domination L.A Day introduced us to Gionne's sister Riza and Jenna's brother Leon. I hope that L.A Day writes a great story about them. From what I could garner, they would be an explosive pair.
